Here are a few photos of our little darling from February and March.
We've all been fairly poorly on and off for many weeks which is why there aren't as many as usual, but the ones we do have are lovely as usual. Note in particular the arty ones!
This was just before getting his first tummy bug - he's had about 4 in the span of 2 months! :(
Snuggling up with Daddy (who has also been poorly) before bedtime
Max still loves sound books, so I'm looking to see if there are jolly phonics and some other other first reader/talker ones about to help him learn. Watch this space!
This year Max has really got into puzzles and he's a bit of a whizz at them now! He has about half a dozen at home that he completes a few times a day and I'm sure record-breaking speed! This one is probably his favourite and is 60 pieces. We helped him when he first got it, but he doesn't need help anymore.
Playing at the park with Sally, Jack Jack, Harry and Granny
This lovely expressive doodle was done with our lovely friend Sue Carter from EYFSIS (Early Years Foundation Stage Inclusion Support - means home teaching really!) She's trying to evaluate his various fine and gross motor skills, all of which are at least to his age so far which is great, so he's unlikely to need Occupational Therapy at this stage. Next job is to try to get him forming different shapes and marks and having a go with scissors.
This was a really beautiful moment for me: playing at Sally's house one afternoon last week, it was a glorious sunny day and we were out in the garden where the Froys had been drawing with chalk on the patio over the weekend. Max saw the drawings and wanted to have a go himself! I drew some bits for him to colour in and then he just for the bug and started scribbling about! This is momentous because Max is generally not creative or imaginative at all and takes a lot of encouragement to do any kind of art stuff (much to my dismay of course!) But here he is, and he drew for probably a good 10 or 15 minutes, very calmly and happily.
This is a clearer shot of what he got up to, he liked the pink as it showed up really well on the paving. Along the bottom there you can see a couple of words I've written, one letter per brick. Max watched me do this and came along soon after to write his own 'letters', one per brick like I was doing. I know they look like Roman numerals, but it's a great start!
