1st birthday etc...

Sorry it's been so long since I updated this, no excuse really...
Anyway, here we go - it's a biggun!

Max is 1 year old! Still amazed at how fast time has flown; no matter how many people tell you, the first year goes by in a flash!

Not too much of an action shot here as all of those didn't show his face, but Max really loves music so this early birthday present from Aunty M is fabulous. He plays all the different parts of the music centre which has chimes and rattles etc... and a xylophone one side and a drum on the other.

He loves it so much he decided to give it a kiss!

On the run!

We call this the 'Murtagh'... (For Callum)

"Look at my lovely teeth!" He has 8 now and more cutting through (poor thing).

"Too bright Mummy!"

This is the face pulled by roaring! "Aaaaah! Scary monster!" is the correct reply to this.

Max celebrated his 1st birthday with the lovely Lucy, who turned 11(!!!) the same month.

He was mostly frowning for the party, but more for the reaction it got that any other reason. He was happy enough because Jack was there!
Aunty Cara got some of the day's biggest smiles.

Who's got the meanest pout?

Max wasn't interested in the cake until the time came to eat it, fortunately Lucy had enough puff for the both of them.

"Whoever put me in this laundry basket as a birthday gift - I do not approve."

Max loves to help with the hoovering.

"Get that camera out of my face, woman!"

Having a nice chat with Nanna.

Aww, our gorgeous nephew, Dastan, is very affectionate with everyone and especially loves Max which is very lovely as Max loves him too.

They have LOTS of fun running around together.

This is a very Mummy expression.

This little sequence was taken at a rather momentous occassion - Max feeding himself!! Until this point, Max had only fed himself biscuit fingers and the occassional chunk of cheese, but he now feeds himself most finger foods and even has a go at scooping with a spoon which is great!

He was VERY pleased with himself. :)

During the meal, Max played peekaboo with Daddy using the curtain.

Cuddle with Grandad :)

Max is in complete awe of Jack and sticks to him like glue whenever we see him. Jack finds it a little frustrating and we are trying to encourage him to be patient and Max to give him a little space. When they are playing nicely together it's one of the most blissful things to watch - the favourite games (in Max's opinion) are peekaboo chase and scary monster.

This is a joyful shout believe it or not!

New Rocker, playing with cardboard & Godfrey visit

As Max approached his 1st birthday, he is getting more and more energetic and confident with walking and playing. I'm going to start taking him to Tumble Tots as a weekly activity to burn some of the energy and let him meet some other toddlers.

Also, as an aside, I've just become an Avon rep, so Maximus will also be joining me on my door-to-door rounds on our road and to Avon demo parties. Before long he can walk around with me instead of having to be pushed in his pushchair! :)

What is it with babies and washing machines?!

When Max's new car seat arrived we had a giant cardboard box which we improvised and played with all afternoon. Max had fun slotting in and taking out various toys and books and letting the ball roll down the centre panel. The cats also loved playing in the box.

"Don't you open that Trap Door!"

Playing with the music station at Sally and Alec's

Kiss for Sally!

Mid-walk!

"I wanna watch this one Mummy!"

"Any requests?"

Aww, cuddle with Mummy after bath

And cuddle with Daddy after bath!

11 months: Walking!

Hello, hello one and all!

Max will be 11 months in a few days and we are very happy to say that he is now walking a few steps all on his own! He has been slowly but surely getting more confident with his cruising and over the past few days has been walking a couple of steps from me to Callum and just today he's taken 6 steps!

Below are photos of him at my birthday at the end of last month up to pictures taken today at Gran and Mea's in Kew.
About to walk from Gran to Aunty M
Mid-walk!

Looking very pleased with himself - and rightly so. :)

Very serious, but very beautiful.
