Welcome to the Summer Holiday blog for Spain! Here's a selection from our week away with our wonderful extended family: Me, Callum, Maximus, Sally, Alec, Jack, Harry, Martin, Caroline, Lucy, Katie, Hannah, Steve, Pete, Caz, Jimbo, Emma, Peej, Mel, Badger & Karen

This part of the indoor BBQ and wall of what I called the Playhouse, which was an ENORMOUS room where all of us could sit down to eat at a giant stone picnic bench type of creation. Behind that were many tables where we played many games, and behind those was a pool table and table football!

This was another seating area to eat outside, but this meant being munched by many, many mozzies so we only ate out there once.

Max's first experience of the pool was splashing about from the side, but it didn't take long for him to want to go in properly, and he LOVED it all holiday! Hooray!

Harry had great fun playing table tennis with a little help from his Daddy, Alec

This picture sums up Caz's feelings of the whole holiday I think (apart from the journey home) and her joy was completely infectious :)

Jack about to go down the slide and Max going up the steps at the park area which was in our grounds!!

Pretty much the first thing we did when we arrived was to plunge ourselves into the pool as we were very hot and sticky from travelling, it was bliss!
Didn't take long for Jimbo to start being a pickle in the pool! Here trying to tip up Hannah in the inflatable!
My lovely sister, Sally with a gorgeous Harry

"Look Daddy! No hands!"

Jimbo after jumping onto the lilo from the side of the pool! Impressive!

Max giving me a kiss :)

Max and his old fashioned school boy cap, which I love

Peej & a coffee

Uncle Steve getting splashed by Hannah & Katie

Jack & his Daddy

Callum & Peej playing pool

Lucy & me colouring in the playhouse with Max behind me

Callum & Smart in caveman mode at the BBQ

Max & Jimbo at the table football

and after jumping! His aim was always to splash as many people as much as possible! He did pretty well!

Beautiful little Harry, uncle Callum was making him laugh with his murloc noises

Our day out - eating lunch before the climb up around a lovely, picturesque cobbled 'town' - ok I forget what it was called... anyway, we had awesome chicken and chips!

Caz & Steve

Max got very brave after a couple of days and wanted to try jumping in from the side like Jack

Max with me in the pool - he was having a nice time honest! You can't tell from the face - I blame bright light and water in the face...

Katie was referred to as the fish most of the holiday as she spent most of her time in the pool, generally slinking up from diving down. Lucy spent her time in the pool gliding along the bottom of the pool and then popping up unexpectedly, or giving the girls boat rides on the inflatable.

Sally!

Emma

Steve throwing Jack in the pool

We had rain one evening - the evening of Peej's 30th birthday party! Poor Peej, ah well, we still had lots of fun!

See?

The party was a surprise so we all made an effort to dress up, the guys in Hawiian shirts and decorations and the girls in many flowery outfits. Some of us also wore face paints. I'm missing a couple of pictures which I'll add when I get them.

Cara

Harry

Party dinner! Steve made most of our meals during the holiday (with a little help from his friends) and they were delicious! Below is one of the two giant chicken stews

This is the second one being brought in - to show how big it was, Steve & Alec carried it together!

Pete, Peej & Birthday cheesecake

During this party awards were given out for everyone, made by Cara and the girls. Here's Max's "Bravest Swimmer"

Callum's "Top Meat Eater"

and my "Top Suncreamer" (See the Avon bottle below? Hehe)

Smart being bonkers - I think being a fortune teller with Caz's shrug on his head

This was the last night in the house and Max stayed up late as he had a long, late nap, so the other kids were in bed... Well, I say kids, the children, there were plenty of adults kidding about that night! Here's Steve and Max, Emma, Cara in the back and Pete, playing with poker chips

Everyone made a lovely effort to play with Max and interact with him with the type of play he engages in and Max built and reinforced some wonderful friendships which was brilliant. :)

We had music on the ipod playing and there happened to be a rock track on at this moment - Callum felt it neccessary to air guitar Max to it - seeing this it was a good call eh?

Callum dangling Max upside down - fun fun fun!

Edible Max!

Callum looking a but gammy trying not to lose his glasses, but Max looked so wonderful I had to put it up. It's kinda funny...

Rude boy gangsta!

This is us spending a small family day in Barcelona waiting for our flight home. The plan was the go to the Aquarium but it was crazy expensive and busy, so we just went for a wander and a splash in the sea instead. Again I'm missing a couple of photos here somehow, but will add when I get them back.

We looked at paintings of fish instead of real ones, Max still liked them :)

A Nemo fish!

Walking along the street with the beach to the left. We went for a splash in the sea but Max preferred the little showers on the beach to wash the sand off. Callum and I were grateful for those too! It was HOT!

and bright!

Just before dinner time, we found a little park amongst some local apartments. Max had a play there and fed himself and his Daddy some 'chocolate'. It was rancid but Max didn't seem to mind much.

All in all and fantastic holiday with truly amazing and fun people. Thanks to everyone who went and to Peej for arranging it. We can thoroughly recommend him as a travel agent ;)

Here Max is climbing up one of the little slopes that led up to trees planted around the harbour - odd but fun!
